Yamaha Motorcycles
One of the new 2008 Yamaha motorcycles is the Yamaha WR250R, which is a welcome surprise in the biking world. Considered to be the kind of bike known as a Thumper, reviewers and critics who have test driven this bike have walked away more impressed than they expected to be.
The vibrations of this bike are said to be extremely minimal, so that it is often difficult to tell the gear in which one is riding. Because of the smooth ride, test drivers have proposed that the WR250R will do well in longer rides, without producing any numbing sensations or general discomfiture, traits for which many Thumper bikes are known.
Many Thumper style bikes are also known for displaying insufficient amounts of power, but like most Yamaha motorcycles, the WR250R has a good amount of horsepower and a much faster rate of acceleration which fall into the same size category as the WR250R.
Apparently the makers of these Yamaha motorcycles believed that the buyer-base for this model do not want tightly wound motors or short service intervals. On that believe, the WR250R is designed with an overall more effective engine that does not need much maintenance. The engine is built with a purpose-built power plant, titanium intake valves, a four valve cylinder with a short aluminium piston, and a composite cylinder plated in ceramic. In a successful effort to make the piston temperatures lower, the engine is also equipped with an oil jet just underneath the piston.
In addition, these Yamaha motorcycles have a Mikuni fuel injection system, which uses a thirty eight millimeter throttle and a combustion system made more effective and efficient thanks to a twelve hole injector. The radiator has a fan designed to exhaust spent heat away from the motorcycle rider.
The WR250R also comes with an excellent suspension system which is second to none in Thumper styled bikes. There is a forty six millimeter cartridge KYB fork. It comes equipped with more than ten and a half inches of travel and it is completely adjustable – there is almost one inch in terms of height adjustability. When it comes to raising or lowering the ride height, there is a lock not which has to be loosened in order to release the lower shock mount.
Motorcycles made by Yamaha are both well-known and incredibly famed for making bikes which feature the highest levels of quality, durability, and dependability. With the 2008 WR250R, Yamaha proves that they are continuing to break standards and stereotypes by creating safe, fun, affordable bikes that continue to leave the competition in the dust.
